RED NOTICE - (L-R) RYAN REYNOLDS, GAL GADOT and DWAYNE ‘THE ROCK’ JOHNSON STAR IN NETFLIX’S RED NOTICE RELEASING NOVEMBER 12, 2021. ![]() ![]() Oh, and The Harder They Fall will open theatrically on October 22, and yes it’s a little ironic that Netflix now has too many movies that otherwise might merit a theatrical release. BOOM! and Passing are both opening in theaters two days before Army of Thieves’ October 29 Netflix debut. Schweighöfer, and his friendship with Omari Hardwick, was a highlight of Snyder’s zombie plague heist movie, so there’s reason for optimism with the presumption that a lack of a theatrical window is just because tick. The film, set in the very early days of the zombie outbreak that decimated Las Vegas in the previous picture, stars Schweighöfer as safecracker Ludwig Dieter as he gets recruited by a mysterious woman (Nathalie Emmanuel) to aid a motley crew of burglars. While Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead got a week-long theatrical window and then went on to nab around 72 million global households, the Matthias Schweighöfer-directed prequel will seemingly get a standard “just on Netflix” release. Yes, but what about Red Notice and Army of Thieves?Īs noted above, there were two unexpected omissions from the whole “in theaters and then on streaming” list. It’ll also be followed by two early-2022 Sandra Bullock star vehicles (a co-starring role in Sony’s Bullet Train alongside Brad Pitt and a starring role in Paramount’s The Lost City of D alongside Channing Tatum) which will hopefully prove that folks will still see Bullock in a movie theater and not just on their couch. While obviously less crowd-pleasing than the apocalyptic Bird Box, the film will feature Bullock and Viola Davis going toe-to-toe. Directed by Nora Fingscheidt and co-written by Peter Craig, Hillary Seitz and Courtney Miles, this flick stars Bullock as a woman released from prison after doing time for an unspecified violent crime. In Sandra Bullock’s first big movie, on Netflix or anywhere else for that matter, since the late-2018 sensation Bird Box, The Unforgivable is based on the British miniseries Unforgiven.
